Answers to common questions about the NYCE® Payments Network
Have a question that isn't answered here? Contact your financial institution directly — they can confirm your card's participation in the NYCE network and answer any account-specific questions.
NYCE is a nationwide debit card network that connects your bank or credit union account to ATMs, retail stores, and online merchants across the U.S. If your card carries the NYCE logo, you're already on the network.
At more than 90% of ATMs in the U.S., over 2 million retail locations, and online wherever NYCE debit is accepted. NYCE cardholders also have ATM access at U.S. military bases worldwide through the AFFN® network.
SUM is an optional program that lets you withdraw cash without surcharge fees at thousands of participating ATMs. Not all financial institutions participate – check with yours to see if SUM is available on your card and use the SUM ATM Locator to find nearby locations.
Surcharges depend on the ATM owner and your financial institution's policies. At SUM-participating ATMs, you won't be charged a surcharge. At other ATMs, a fee may apply. Your bank or credit union may also have its own ATM fee policies – check with them for details.
Yes. NYCE supports online debit transactions without requiring a PIN or signature at checkout.
Check for the NYCE logo on the front or back of your debit card. If you don't see it, contact your bank or credit union – they can confirm whether your card is in NYCE.
